Job Summary
As an Alterations Manager at Printemps New York, you will be responsible for handling all alterations and tailoring services within the store. This individual will work directly with customers to ensure garments are tailored to their specifications with high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The role requires strong technical sewing skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage all aspects of the alterations processes independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform all garment alterations, fittings, and adjustments based on customer needs.
• Conduct one-on-one fittings with clients to assess and pin garments for precise operations.
• Provide expert advice on tailoring options, garment fit, and styling during customer consultations.
• Manage the full alterations process, including intake, tracking, and timely completion of orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe alterations workspace.
• Track and order supplies and materials as needed.
• Collaborate with store associates to support sales and provide fitting expertise.
• Ensure all altered garments meet store standards for quality and fit.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding timelines, pricing (if applicable), and alteration options.

Education, Experience, and Skills Needed
• 3+ years of experience in alterations or tailoring.
• Proficient in using sewing machines, sergers, and hand sewing tools.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and various fabric types.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage workload independently.
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
