Art on Display: Jérémy De Backer
Continuing its legacy of innovation, this Fall, Printemps New York honors art and fashion creators who design with intention, select sustainable materials, and conserve resources longer.
We are excited to present Welcome to Earth by French photographer Jérémy De Backer—a poetic exploration of our planet seen through a lens of imagination, solitude, and awe.
The exhibition invites visitors on a journey around the globe through the eyes of The Earthonaut, a recurring figure De Backer places within striking natural and manmade landscapes. No digital manipulation or AI intervention. Only the artist’s presence and the Earth’s raw beauty, captured with cinematic sensitivity. The result is a series of images that feel at once alien and deeply human, prompting reflection on our connection to the planet and our shared future.
Conceived in the wake of global isolation, Welcome to Earth becomes both an ode and a question: How do we care for the world that sustains us, and what happens when we dream of life beyond it? De Backer’s photographs balance scientific curiosity with emotional intimacy, offering a modern myth for our time. One that reminds us that the most extraordinary terrain remains our own.
Presented in collaboration with G&O Art, the artist’s exclusive North American representatives, Welcome to Earth continues our mission to champion international artistry that bridges fashion, culture, and environmental consciousness.
